My thoughts on Tripped: Nazi Germany, the CIA, and the Dawn of the Psychedelic Age, by Norman Oehler.
This is a fascinating history chronicling the origins and the roller coaster history of LSD, from its initial ambitions to the inevitable illegality, to the new chance it has recently undergone to finally attain medical applications. The author has his own personal stake in this concept—his mother has Alzheimer's. All in all, an informative read written in a very user-friendly style. I highly recommend it.

My Thoughts on The Big Mango, by Jake Needham
This is a fun heist story, and the exotic setting, which acts as a character in its own right, indeed adds flavor. The main character, Eddie Dare, is as sympathetic as he is flawed. There is also a sizable ensemble of supporting characters.

When Is Too Much Too Much?
Recently, I submitted a chapter from Soul Eaters—Book Two of The Ecto-Files to one of my writers groups, and the biggest, or most popular, critique I received was that I used too many words to illustrate scenes, characters, places and the like. One of the goals I try to achieve when I write a chapter, aside from checking off the boxes in the scene card, is that I should have at least 3,000 words for it to be considered a full chapter. I know that this seems a trivial goal, b

Finished Book #104 For the Year
I just finished Long Lost (Myron Bolitar Book 9) by Harlan Coben, and I always marvel at how he creates his twisting plots, his chilling villains, and his connections to world events and issues. I've read this series once before, and I've returned to it, always enjoying the snarkiness of the narrator and the belly-busting laughs. I am on to reading Thief of Night (The Charlatan Duology Book 2) by Holly Black.

My Usual Diet of Reading
I usually read over 100 books a year, which mostly includes mysteries and urban fantasies. I've always felt that writing is mimicry, and that I can find inspirations from the books I read, the shows I binge-watch, and the films I see. I read the urban fantasies to look for new ideas for the worlds I create. I read mysteries mostly for the mechanics of the genre, making sure that my stories and books, which are both framed as urban fantasies and mysteries, have strong clear el
