My Thoughts on Good Omens 3, 5/16/2026…

Good Omens 3 is not an entirely new season of the whimsical fantasy by the late, great Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, nor was it envisioned as such by these two powerhouse storytellers. It’s only one episode. It’s only an hour and a half. It’s also an extension of the premise, a new imagined—and imaginative—chapter of this tale, filling in the blanks and answering the questions the original left us with.
With Aziraphale (Michael Sheen, of Frost/Nixon) being promoted in Heaven, and Crowley (the multi-talented David Tennant, Doctor Who) being ejected from Hell, this tale is all about the preparations and the implementation of the Second Coming. But there’s a problem. Christ is M.I.A. So the devil and angel team up one more time to find the missing messiah and attempt to make armageddon enjoyable—and survivable—for everyone. But there’s a wrinkle in the plans. The Book of Life and a few high-ranking angels go missing, and the denizens of hell catch the news just before all unfolds.
The chemistry between Tennant and Sheen is what makes this series, even this one-off, work. They are a delight to watch. Team them up in anything, and it’s bound to be a hit. Supporting cast, including Sean Pertwee (The Batman), Mark Addy (The Full Monty), and Derek Jacobi (I, Claudius), add their talents and have their fun. And the ending (or is it?) of this tale is just as granola-crunchy and tree-huggy as it can possibly get.
I enjoyed Good Omens 3, and I highly recommend it.
