I really enjoyed this book, especially the buildup to the end.

On the way, I was up and down about how I felt about it. Not that it dragged—it definitely did not—but at these times I wondered what the author was up to. And I had some prejudices that came into play as well.

Before I proceed, allow me to mention that I’ve learned a few things about Earth, space exploration, and the possible habitation of humans on other planets in the galaxy. I found out that because of the distance from the sun, the position of the moon, and other factors, this is why the Earth is hospitable to human life. If another planet is found somewhere else in the galaxy that has the same prerequisites, humans can live there, as well. (Thank you, Samantha Meares!)

And that is where the premise of Operation Bounce House, and its setting, the planet New Sonora, comes in. Needless to say, my initial prejudices against science fiction negatively colored my reading of the novel, almost to a large degree. When I learned what I learned, I found OBH that much more enjoyable.

In a nutshell, a corporation recruits gamers to invade New Sonora, declaring the human inhabitants there terrorists. This book is about that struggle and what a band of humans planetside had to do to survive against this attack.

I highly recommend this book. Especially now, since I have a better understanding and appreciation of science fiction. (Thanks again, Sam!)
