Up Next: The Novel, When We Rise…

I’m again reading and reviewing publications by friends, acquaintances, and fellow writers' group members.
I value Ken Altabef’s reviews of my submissions—his viewpoints and feedback I’ve seriously considered and appreciated. He is an established science fiction and fantasy author and a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association. His short fiction has appeared in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, while his extensive bibliography includes The Calling from the Alaana’s Way series, Changelings, Way of the Shaman, and Chrysalis.
When We Rise is a science fiction novel set in a galaxy where nearly every spacefaring species exists through physical and mental pair-bonding. Among the twenty-seven known spacefaring races, twenty-six are advanced symbiotic “joined species,” while humanity remains an exploited outsider. That rigid hierarchy begins to unravel when humans discover they can bond with the Formorans—and when one of the ruling Consortium species proves capable of the same connection. This discovery sparks a dangerous struggle over control of a powerful new hybrid that could alter the balance of power across the galaxy.
As usual, I’ll share my thoughts in a blog when I’m through.
